What is Sphereworld?
A world worth understanding
Sphereworld is a large, living fantasy world — ancient enough to have forgotten more than most worlds ever know, yet busy with the ordinary work of civilization: teaching, governing, building, trading, and venturing into the parts of the map that are still blank.
At its heart is an academy of wizards, but Sphereworld is not a story about a single chosen student. It is a world of expeditions and archives, guilds and governments, scholars and explorers — a place where curiosity is a kind of courage, and where knowledge, hard-won, can change the course of history.
There is adventure here, and politics, and mystery. But the deeper promise is simpler than any plot: that this is a world built carefully enough to be worth exploring, and generous enough to keep opening the further in you go.
Why I'm writing it
The fantasy I most wanted to read
I wanted to write the kind of fantasy I most wanted to read: worlds that feel ancient yet alive, stories that value curiosity as much as combat, and adventures where knowledge changes history.
Modern fantasy often trends dark and cynical — every institution corrupt, every bright thing doomed. Sphereworld reaches the other way, toward an optimism that is earned rather than naïve: a belief that progress is real, that people can become good at things, and that civilization, for all its flaws, is one of the most remarkable things our species has ever made.

In active development
Sphereworld is being written. There is no release date yet, and that's by design — it is being built to last rather than to ship.
- Currently writing. The first book of The Sphereworld Chronicles is underway, alongside the deeper architecture of the world.
