Privacy Policy
Sphereworld is a calm, content-first reading site. We collect as little personal data as possible, and we never sell it. This page explains what we do collect and why.

Who is responsible
The controller for data processing on this site is Max Werner. For contact details and full provider identification, see the Imprint.
Visiting the site
This is a static website. When you visit, our hosting provider may automatically process technical information that your browser sends — such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser and operating system. This data is used solely to deliver the site securely and reliably, and forms the legal basis of our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). We do not use advertising trackers or build profiles of visitors.
The newsletter mailing list
If you sign up for the Sphereworld newsletter, we process the email address you provide in order to send you occasional updates about new writing and the world in progress.
- Legal basis. Your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR), given when you submit the sign-up form. We may use a confirmed opt-in, meaning we send one email asking you to confirm before adding you to the list.
- What we store. Your email address, and the date and status of your subscription. We do not require your name.
- Email provider. The list is managed by a third-party email service that acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. Your email address is stored on their systems for the purpose of sending the newsletter.
- Withdrawing consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by writing to mwerner@notawiz4rd.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal. After you unsubscribe we delete your address, except where we must retain a record to honour your opt-out.
Contacting us
If you email us, we process the address and the content of your message in order to respond. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and — where your message concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps — Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with your request.
Cookies and analytics
Sphereworld ships almost no JavaScript and sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If we ever introduce privacy-friendly analytics or any cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, with future effect; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, write to mwerner@notawiz4rd.com.
Changes to this policy
As Sphereworld grows we may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
